Woodridge Public Library subscribes to a variety of online databases that are available to anyone in the library. Many of them are also accessible by WPL cardholders from outside the library. Provides detailed company and industry news and information, including company profiles, company brand and product information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, news articles, industry associations, and legal issues.

ReferenceUSA

Directory information for publicly and privately owned companies in the United States, as well as information about individual consumers. The database is compiled from hundreds of Yellow page directories, Business White Pages, Corporate Annual Reports, SEC 10K reports, Chamber of Commerce Directories, state directories, and other public information sources. It is searchable by: Company or Executive name, and Ticker symbol; SIC & NAICS codes; city, MSA's, state, area code or zip code; business size (sales, numbers of employees, etc.).

Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage

Standard & Poor's Company Profiles, Corporation Records, The Outlook, Fund Reports and Stock Reports.

A comprehensive health and medical database with encyclopedia-like articles as well as full-text periodical articles on a variety of topics, from alternative medicine to specific diseases and injuries.

Medline (home access)

The U.S. National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database containing references to articles in thousands of medical, dental, and nursing journals. Corresponds to the print indexes Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature, and International Nursing Index. The library's primary magazine, journal and newspaper database. Contains articles from over 2,500 publications, such as Time, BusinessWeek, the Chicago Tribune, the Daily Herald, the Chicago Sun-Times, and the New York Times. Coverage dates for each title vary and articles from over 1,400 of the publications are available in full-text.

FirstSearch (home access)

A collection of academic and professional magazine and journal databases on specialized topics. Coverage dates for each title vary and some databases are full-text. Also includes WorldCat, a national catalog of books, audiovisual items, and other materials in libraries of all types.
