Welcome to the Children’s Department! The staff of the Children’s Department offers a variety of services to children birth through 6th grade, parents, teachers and others who work with children.
Staff members are happy to help you find whatever you need, from homework help to planning a children’s party or finding that special book you remember. We can also make suggestions for good books to read on a variety of reading levels and interests.
Drop-In Family Storytimes
Choose the storytimes you would like to attend and…just drop in. No need to register. These programs are designed for families with children 2 to 5 years of age. Parents or caregivers are welcome to attend with their child, but are not required to unless that child is not yet 3. Each program will meet eight times.
Monday Morning Family Storytime
September 21 - November 9, 9:30 - 10 a.m.
Wednesday Night Family Storytime
September 23 - November 11, 7 - 7:30 p.m.
Thursday Afternoon Family Storytime
September 24 - November 12, 1:30 - 2 p.m.
Saturday Morning Family Storytime
September 26 - November 14, 11 - 11:30 a.m.
Drop-In Spanish Storytime
Spanish stories, fingerplays, and songs will be shared in this program for preschool children through 6 years of age. It is not designed to teach Spanish. A parent or caregiver must attend the program with any child not yet 3. This storytime will meet eight times. Registration is not required, just drop in.
Tuesday Night Spanish Storytime
September 15 - November 3, 6:30 - 7 p.m.
