Welcome to the Children’s Department! The staff of the Children’s Department offers a variety of services to children birth through 6th grade, parents, teachers and others who work with children.

Staff members are happy to help you find whatever you need, from homework help to planning a children’s party or finding that special book you remember.  We can also make suggestions for good books to read on a variety of reading levels and interests.

Overdrive Kids eReading Room

We have expanded our downloadable e-book service with a new digital collection website experience just for kids. The main digital collection, Media On Demand, now has a separate site to provide a safe and easy browsing experience for kids.

This appealing and user-friendly page contains e-books, audiobooks, and video. Browsing can be done by subject, reading level or interest level. Check out the Kids eReading Room now!

 AtoZ The USA provides a wealth of information about each of the 50 states and 5 territories. Includes state, county and city information, maps, flags, photos, facts, and much more!

 Research World Cultures!

AtoZ World Culture provides information about 175 of the world's countries. Great for those school reports! Includes greetings, travel, gifts, religion, travel, superstition, women's lifestyles, time, holidays, stereotypes, lifecycles, and much more!

Learn Languages Online for Kids


Little Pim allows children to learn several languages online, including Russian, German, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Hebrew, English, Spanish, and French.

This is a new component of the Mango online-language learning system ... the easiest way to learn a foreign language for all ages!   


Browse Our New Online Maps Collection

AtoZ Maps Online is the worlds largest subscription-based database of proprietary, royalty-free world, continent, country, and state maps. Included in the map collection are: political maps, physical maps, outline maps, population maps, precipitation maps, climate maps, and other thematic maps. New maps are added to the collection every month. Enter your Woodridge Public Library barcode number when prompted to enter the site and view the collection of maps.
