Library Cards & Borrowing

The Woodridge Public Library offers library cards to businesses and non-profit organizations located within the corporate boundaries of Woodridge. To receive a card, the owner or manager of the business must complete a Business Card application and provide the library with current documentation such as a letter of incorporation, a business license, or a 501c document. One library card per business. The card must be presented for borrowing.

Please complete the Business Card Application form then visit the library to submit the form and receive your card. Person named must sign the statement of responsibility.

Items can be requested through the online catalog or in person at the Adult & Teen Desk or Children’s Library Desk. When a reserved item becomes available, patrons will be notified by email or telephone. Items will be held for 7 days.

Items not available from SWAN can be requested through WorldCat or by speaking with a librarian. Items that come from outside of the state will incur a $3 fee.

There is a three-day grace period on all overdue items after which a 10¢ per day fine is assessed for each day overdue. The cost of the item plus a $5 processing fee is charged for all lost/damaged items.

Fines may be paid online through the patron's SWAN account, inside the Library at a self-check station, or at the Circulation Desk.

Yes! All items borrowed from us can be renewed as long as no one else is waiting on them. Items can be renewed through the online catalog, by phone, or in person at the Circulation Desk.

Most materials can be kept for 3 weeks. Children’s DVDs, DVD and Blu-ray feature films, and video games can be kept for one week.

Woodridge residents can get a library card at the Circulation Desk. Patrons 14 and over must show one piece of current identification showing name and an address within the corporate boundaries of Woodridge. Proof of residence can be a valid driver’s license, valid state ID, Mexican Matricula Consular Identification Card, recently delivered mail, or a lease.

For children 13 and under, a parent or legal guardian must show their own valid identification. The parent or guardian’s signature is required to show acceptance of responsibility

Your Woodridge library card is valid at all public libraries in Illinois. Additional registration may be required at some libraries.
