Library Cards & Borrowing

Register for a temporary library card online and get instant access for downloading and streaming. This temporary card can be updated to a full use, permanent card by visiting the library within 90 days. You must show ID as outlined below in order to convert a temporary digital card to a permanent card.

Woodridge residents can get a library card at the Circulation Services Desk. Persons 18 and over must show one piece of current identification showing name and an address within the corporate boundaries of Woodridge. Proof of residence can be a valid driver’s license, valid state ID, Mexican Matricula Consular Identification Card, recently delivered mail, or a lease.

For persons 17 and under, a parent or legal guardian must show their own valid identification. The parent or guardian’s signature is required to show acceptance of responsibility.

Your Woodridge library card is valid at all public libraries in Illinois. Additional registration may be required at some libraries.

Materials can be kept for 3 weeks.

Yes! All items borrowed from us can be renewed as long as no one else is waiting on them. Elligible items will be renewed automatically. Renewals will be limited to two renewals per item. Contact the Circulation Desk with questions.

Items can be requested through the online catalog, SWAN Libraries app or in person at the Adult & Teen Desk or Children’s Library Desk. When a reserved item becomes available, patrons will be notified by email or telephone. Items will be held for 7 days.

Items not available from SWAN can be requested through WorldCat or by speaking with a librarian. Items that come from outside of the state will incur a $3 fee.

The Woodridge Public Library offers library cards to businesses and non-profit organizations located within the corporate boundaries of Woodridge. To receive a card, the owner or manager of the business must complete a Business Card application and provide the library with current documentation such as a letter of incorporation, a business license, or a 501c document. One library card per business. The card must be presented for borrowing.

Please complete the Business Card Application form then visit the library to submit the form and receive your card. Person named must sign the statement of responsibility.

Curbside Pickup ends 30 minutes before closing
