Woodridge residents can get a library card with a photo ID with their current address. Digital library cards are available to Woodridge residents who don't have a library card yet and want instant access to download and streaming collections.
The Woodridge Public Library is celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month in September with a month-long campaign and prize drawing with special Woodridge tie-ins. Every adult who signs up for a card can enter to win a $25 gift card from popular Woodridge restaurants, which include Jameson's Charhouse, Lima Fresca, Legends, and Ike & Oak Brewery. Everyone who signs up will get a welcome gift when they pick up their card in person. Adults will receive an emoji magnet made on the library's in-house 3D printer. Kids who sign up can choose a fidget toy from a collection of pop fidgets, wacky tracks, shakers, and Mochi squishy animals.
Library Director Pam Dubé said, "Getting a library card can really make people feel part of our friendly community and the September giveaways are just the beginning when it comes to the real value of having a library card."
Children can have their parent or caregiver take their photo on the Woodridge Library "Red Carpet" throughout September. Novelty star sunglasses, star award trophies, and oversized library card photo props will make every child feel like a library card star.
"It is wonderful to give someone their first Woodridge Public Library card or to meet someone new who has moved to town," shared Circulation Services Manager Julie Lombardo. "Having a family celebrate a child's first card ever, or helping someone get a card and start using the library makes us happy."
