Jay Moore
From Jay’s Eyes
The artwork of the thread artist known as Jay Moore will be featured in the Gallery beginning later this week and continuing throughout February. Says Moore of the beginnings of her work, "I attempted to create a portrait that looked realistic and that captured the essence of my model's personality using fabric as my canvas and thread as my paint."
The Art Gallery space is located in the lobby of the Woodridge Public Library with viewing open during normal operating hours. More than 20 portraits are on display along with an artist statement which will give visitors insights into the origins of and influences on Jay Moore's artistry.
Exhibits
The Library accepts applications to exhibit in our Gallery in either the October Woodridge Artists group show or in a Featured Artist month-long exhibit.
Applications for the October show are available in September, and artists may submit one to three works for consideration.
Area artists who wish to be considered for a Featured Artist exhibit must review the Art Exhibit Policy, Guidelines for Artists and complete the Art Gallery Application.
