This Chicago native creates enchanting new age finger-style instrumentals to percussively driven solo acoustic guitar folk/rock songs utilizing percussive rhythms, harmonics, and tapping with a piano-like approach that is both musically and visually stimulating. Although Jim and has gained much interest for his unusual percussive playing style, he considers himself a songwriter first, a guitarist second. Because of this, he often quotes his biggest musical influence, Michael Hedges, who said, "I'm not trying to play the guitar. I'm trying to play music. That's the difference right there."
