Southwest Suburban Immigration Project is a local non-profit organization providing classes for those in our area preparing to take the U.S. Citizenship Test. This spring, prep classes are being conducted virtually, most Tuesday evenings, 6 - 7:30 p.m. through May 3. Contact SSIP for more information:

BECOME A CITIZEN! SSIP, through the New Americans Initiative, and with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights is proud to offer citizenship preparation classes. SSIP’s Citizenship Classes provide a review of the English language skills and U.S history, politics, and civics knowledge needed to pass the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) naturalization interview.

Currently, SSIP has partnered with the Fountaindale Public Library in Bolingbrook, Woodridge Public Library, and White Oak Crest Hill/Romeoville Library to host the citizenship prep courses contact us to register or get more information on accredited organizations and attorneys that can help you fill out your citizenship application, and see if you might qualify for a fee waiver.

Citizenship preparation classes will help you: Prepare for the naturalization interview with USCIS. Learn important interviewing strategies. Increase your confidence with the interview process. Practice reading, writing, speaking, listening, and pronunciation in English.
